Horror

From the Author

Ever since I was a young child, I have loved horror. One of my first favorite books was The Old Willis Place by Mary Downing Hahn, and I could almost always be found with a Short and Shivery in my backpack. I would frequently sneak out of bed when my dad was watching scary movies and peer over his shoulder until finally he and my stepmom helped me get into horror that was right for my age. It became my favorite genre of films, and now I am married to a fellow horror nerd who is happy to watch a new spooky film with me every night.

When I began writing, horror was my first genre. I lived in almost 20 houses before I graduated high school due to a difficult and blended home life, and some of them were downright terrifying. Writing horror became a way I could process my fear and make it fun, and I grew to love the thrill of being startled by a good jump scare. While I adore romance, urban fantasy, sci-fi, magical realism, and many other genres, horror remains my all-time favorite because of how broad and limitless it is. Sometimes horror disgusts and frightens you, and other times it leaves you in tears. It can be as strange or taboo or romantic as the creator desires without strict rules, and I love the freedom to creatively breathe.

I mentioned that horror makes its way into most of my works, and that is true, if only for a chapter or a scene per book. This page will contain my novels and short stories that are primarily horror.

Some books on my shelf contain 18+ material and will not be suited for younger audiences. Prevalent content warnings are listed in the preface of each of book. Read at your own discretion, and enjoy the ride!

TRANSCENDENCE: An Anthology of Change

Anthology Blurb: Welcome, reader. Are you ready to go on a journey?

Within this anthology, you will join a dying woman on a trip to the stars; free a rose from the clutches of her garden; embark on a mission to a promising new world; embrace your potential with a young dreamer; learn the truth behind a folk tale; begin life anew with your soulmate; return to the comforts of home with new love; and shed your uncomfortable skin and transform.

Blurring lines between genres, TRANSCENDENCE is a celebration of the power of change, transition, and transformation.

My story, Fading Stars, follows Georgia on her last trip to space in her remotely-powered exploration suit. When the return pod crashes, critically damaging the suit, Georgia finds herself trapped between two worlds—the void of space, and her hospital bed on Earth.

They Use the Eyes to Sea- Coming Summer 2025

They Use the Eyes to Sea is a splatterpunk horror novella composed of the written work of thirteen fantastic authors. This project differs from other anthologies in the way that it’s based off the concept of exquisite corpse, meaning that, instead of a series of short stories They Use the Eyes to Sea is one continuous narrative told by each author writing one chapter then passing it off to the next who picks up from where they left off. This nautical, demon horror is a chaotic, unique, exploratory undertaking that’s been presented as a new opportunity for our slew of authors to showcase what they each bring to the table.
